Trump, RNC and the ultimate RIGGED Convention!

2016 Republican Convention “rigging” simplified and the Death of the GOP!

Romney in 2012 changed the rules in cahoots with the RNC establishment and Rule 40 was put in place. It was Mitt Romney, the RNC and the establishment who wanted to shut out Ron Paul backers at the 2012 convention.

Before 2012, in order to be qualify for the nomination, a candidate had to have the written support of a “plurality” of the delegates from at least five states, according to

At the convention in Tampa that year, the rule was changed to require a presidential candidate to have the support of a “majority” of the delegates from at least eight states.

The catalyst for the 2012 rule change was Mitt Romney, who “broke all precedent and used his power as the coming nominee to change the rules, to centralize power in the hands of the establishment, and to make it very much harder for any power in the party to flow from the bottom up.”

That’s the fact!

Rule 40; Paragraph (B)!

What scared the RNC and the Trump camp to break rules was the plain reading of Rule 40, Paragraph B, which supports Cruz.  The paragraph says:

(b) Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these rules or any rule of the House of Representatives, to demonstrate the support required of this paragraph a certificate evidencing the affirmative written support of the required number of permanently seated delegates from each of the eight (8) or more states shall have been submitted to the secretary of the convention not later than one (1) hour prior to the placing of the names of candidates for nomination pursuant to this rule and the established order of business.

It seems clear enough to me Trump knows Cruz could easily contest this convention and he and the RNC attempted to shut it down just as they did with Romney in 2012.

Now, in 2016….

Priebus told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday that “it’s probably unlikely that you see major changes” as a whole when the RNC rules committee meets, but “the 2012 rules were written by the 2012 delegates, who were bound to Mitt Romney.”

“And so Mitt Romney’s rules of 2012 will not be the rules that apply to the 2016 convention, which will be made largely of Trump and Cruz delegates.”

“But really, it’s about the people out there and respecting the voices of the folks both in the states and on the floor of the convention,” the chairman said.

Then he and the Trump camp proceeded to “shut down the [voices of the folks]”

A quick opening day convention recap:

  • Rules come out on the floor to be adopted, this is how it works!
  • Objections are conducted thru “roll call”, an objection was presented and a roll call vote was requested.
  • The request was BLOCKED, SHUT DOWN, & MIC’s were SHUT OFF!
  • Paul Manafort worked with the RNC to orchestrate this!

Final Fact!

The roll call was NOT about blocking Trump’s nomination, if he has the ‘majority’ then it doesn’t hurt Trump, in fact, this move may have taken delegates away from himself yet his manager worked with Reince Priebus to block the roll call – the rules. If Trump “has it cinched up”, why block the procedure?!

If we can’t follow the rules on the right, where do we garner the authority to point fingers at criminals on the left!? Maybe this is why the GOP is so feckless and has BETRAYED us for 8 years of Obama?

If the GOP, specifically the RNC, put this much effort into FIGHTING THE LEFT… imagine where we would be today and where Obama would be.

One Reply to “Trump, RNC and the ultimate RIGGED Convention!”

  1. We agree the GOP and the Conservative movement are in trouble. Apparently our disagreement is on the main cause of the decline.

I submit to you that Republican voters are turning Moderate. Think about the ramifications of that a moment.

Why are our Congressional Republicans stabbing us in the back?

Because they pander to those who vote them into office. If most of their voters are Moderates, they pander to them. If most of their voters are Conservative, they pander to them. Sounds to me like many of our voters have failed the party.

Our individual vote is infinitesimally small, but it’s all the power we have. Not voting only exacerbates the problem. We need to send them a message that we are here, we are Conservative, and we will support them if they act like Conservatives. No clear, sharp message can be conveyed by silence.
